Edwin Drews 45 of Garfield Road Oberlin drove a northbound vehicle in a Wayne County camping trip fatal crash. Jeans occupants were killed and two more injured. Autopsies pending. The Associated Press reports after two days of the Labor Day weekend at least 243 people died on national highways. The National Safety Council estimates 420 to 570 total fatalities for the three day period starting Friday at 6 pm and ending Monday midnight in each time zone. The council notes about 40 people died in traffic crashes during a comparable non holiday period.
