Morticians Beat Lorain Lyon Tailors 6 To 5 In Fourteen Innings
In a fourteen inning Benton Park clash, the Morticians defeated Lorain Lyon Tailors 6 to 5 to claim a spot in a National Baseball Federation tournament hosted in Elyria. Johnny Vurka pitched well for the Bittners, with strong support from Nichalette and Kaminski as Elyria built a late rally before winning in the 14th after Murkowski drew a bases loaded walk to force home the decisive run. The victory also boosted Tri-County League standings despite not counting in the second half, as Avon Lake and North Olmstead posted routs and Lorain’s Franko suffered the decision trade.
