Phelps and Pekras Charged With Misusing Funds

George L Nye, president of Elyria Theatres, files suit in common pleas court accusing Alton Phelps and John Pekras of misappropriating about 25 235.93. The complaint states Pekras and others diverted funds to private uses including the Paradise Soda Grill and other theatres. Plane Wrecked Near Fairgrounds. Aviator Unhurt

A Curtiss J 4D plane was wrecked this afternoon behind Fox Furnace Co. near the fairgrounds as it left the ground. The field was too small and it struck a wire fence. Names of the two aviators are unknown, but no injuries occurred. The aircraft came from Cleveland and was to perform exhibition flights at the fair.

New Candidate Joins Probate Judge Race in Lorain

State Representative William L. Hughes of Lorain filed his declaration and petition for probate judge at the Lorain board of elections on Thursday. Canton Sept 4 police chief William Gauchat reports a baby left six days ago at Mrs John Krolzik 1513 Glenola Place NE by a woman claiming to be the mother may be Blakely Coughlin missing son of Mr and Mrs Geo Coughlin Norristown Pa who was stolen June 2. Gauchat has wired Norristown with details and the infant’s age is about 15 months per the woman.

County Clerk's Yearly Report Highlights Civil and Criminal Cases

County Clerk Chase Williams presents the annual report detailing divorces, judgments, and juries. Divorces pending 99 at July 1, 1915, with 341 brought, total 440. divorces decided 319, pending 121. alimony 123, granted to husband 86, to wife 123. Civil judgments 392 totaling 181,856 dollars. National Coal Plan to Underwrite Northern Ohio Fuel Supply

Northern Ohio will have its bituminous coal supply underwritten by the National Coal Association. A plan launched after an Interstate Commerce Commission conference calls for diverting shipments to Northern Ohio cities and releasing surplus coal to the local market.
