Lawsuit Against Medina Officials Dismissed

A $2 million suit against the city of Medina and Sheriff John Ribar was dismissed seven days after filing. The case claimed deputies arrested Lyndhurst man Robert Knotek on a faulty warrant based on a clerical error, but U.S. District Judge John Manos found no evidence of a municipal policy and ruled against the civil rights claim. He excused Ribar and the deputies, citing absence of underlying misconduct by the top official and reliance on a presumed lawful warrant.
