Tragedy in Cerritos: Plane crash kills 85, ground victims recall

Dawn McCreery 20 and Wendy Offredo 21 were found beaten to death in a Norton wooded area near Akron. Coroner William Cox said both suffered head injuries with possible strangulation and Offredo may have been sexually assaulted. No suspects. both worked as Brown Derby waitresses and last seen leaving the Montrose restaurant Sunday midnight. McCreery was a Akron University student and North Ridgeville High School graduate.
