Oberlin High School flipped the script with a 35-6 victory over Lutheran East, behind Kilgore’s 237 rushing yards and two scores. Aaron James added 108 yards as Oberlin improved to 2-0, the first undefeated 2-0 start since 1996, with a stifling defense and a dominant ground game.

EC built a 35-6 halftime lead with six of seven opening possessions scoring touchdowns. Richie Baker caught two long passes from Schuster for 71 and 68 yards. Jayson Graham added a 3-yard TD run, Nick Betka punched in from a yard, and Vince Scarpelli booted extra points after each score. Southview avoided a shutout with Rick Earl's 43-yard TD run. Schuster praised the team's effort as they improved.
Elyria coach Hamilton praised a simple game plan as RB Rob Bins opened with 24 yards and an 85 yard TD to put the Pioneers ahead for good. Marion trailed but fought back, but costly turnovers and stout Elyria defense maintained the lead.
Rowdie Haddad led Avon Lake with 177 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries as the Shoremen outgained Dover 253 rushing yards and improved to 2-0. Nick Firment threw for 139 yards and two TDs, connecting with Kevin Mansaerus and Dan Weimer, while Dover’s Mike Haddad added a 177-yard night for the Dukes.
Midview led 14-6 before a crucial block on Amherst’s punt set up a late drive. Yusko and Koubek fueled a 14-0 third quarter, with Koubek scoring and Rankin sealing the win with a blocked kick. Amherst struggled offensively as Midview’s defense stifled and special teams delivered.
