Elyria Library Reports Record Summer Reading
The Elyria Public Library announces a record 1 560 children enrolled in the Summer Reading Clubs for the Children's Room. About 1 110 readers in grade one and up completed books for the Read-for-the-Fun-of-it board game, totaling around 10 000 books read in the Elyria community. Preschoolers joined the Someone-Special-Reads-to-Me club, and 416 signed up for read aloud programs. Children added kernels of corn to a Read-for-Owl-Feathered-Friends jar, with the library’s 10 pound stockpile used to feed birds at Lorain County Metro Parks this winter.
