Andwur Building Co Dissolution Marks End of Era in Elyria
In Elyria the Andwur Building Co formed in 1931 to hold the city’s bank building and hotel property will be dissolved this month. Ownership will revert to the Elyria Savings & Trust National Bank, with management by Branch Administration. The eight story EST property, parking lot, and bank branch have managed 40 tenants and the site now follows a merger with First Bank Corp. of Ohio. Only the original porter's bell remains as a relic of the Andwur name. Roseann Parks was elected secretary of the Ohio Continuing Higher Education Association during a summer Avon Lake conference. Parks, of Berea, previously chaired the conference.
