Overhaul Urged By Senator
Washington senators from both parties urged improving the administrations personnel security program after three days of hearings. Sen. Olin D. Johnston charged a "slipshod fashion" of operation and called for a general overhaul to protect employees' rights and government security. Sen. Frank Carlson said grounds for improvement exist and that the subcommittee will develop specific proposals later. The witnesses noted tensions as Johnston accused Carlson of receiving information from an unpaid adviser, Washington attorney Roger Robb, while Robb denied any payment and previous ties to Talbott.
