Frenchmen Aim To Set Long Distance Flight Record
Two French aviators Lu Lovic Arrachart and George Big Shot attempted a world long distance flight from Le Bourget to Calcutta to cover 7,500 kilometers in about 42 hours. Their Brengent biplane, powered by a 550 hp engine, faced an early scare when a backfire nearly burned the craft, but it finally took off at 6 30 a m bound for Vienna Constantinople Baghdad Bassora and Karachi.

Milk Price Rise and Milk Producer Pacts
Milk prices rise to 14 cents per quart starting today after a Miami Valley Cooperative Milk Producers meeting with city distributors. An early September accident near Atlantic City, New Jersey, claimed three lives and injured three others when a car struck a Pennsylvania freight train crossing. The deceased include Albert Harschate, 36, his wife 34, and their three year old daughter Eleanor, all from Philadelphia, along with Jake Daley, 38, his wife Sylvia, 37, of Norris Towns, Pa., and Marian Harschate, another daughter of the couple.
