Route 252 Fatal Hit And Run Accident
A Halloween prank-like incident on Route 252 turned fatal when Edward Novak, 37, of Renfern Road Columbia Station stepped into traffic and was struck by Jesse Thompson, 19, of Valley View. Thompson said he was about 40 mph as Novak moved into his path. A witness thought the hat and a figure were a dummy. Novak, a greenhouse worker and blacksmith’s helper, died from internal injuries and a skull fracture. He is survived by two brothers Henry and Bay. Thompson is not being held.
