Heart and Crown chair sells for $9000 at Skinner auction
The rare Heart and Crown side chair, made in Connecticut about 1740 to 1770 with a cut-out heart crest, sold at a Skinner auction in Massachusetts for $9,000, three times its estimate. It is one of the few surviving examples in black or dark finish with a rush seat and exposed bannisters.
