Lorain man gets six years for murder scheme
Sixto Bigio, 39, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and related charges after planning to kill a woman he dated and stage it as a suicide. Judge Raymond Ewers sentenced him to six years in prison for the offenses including burglary, stalking, domestic violence, resisting arrest and weapons violations.

Halloween display grows into North Ridgeville spectacle
Frank and Dianne Ratusz transformed their North Ridgeville front yard into a Halloween display over 30 years. The yard features inflatable pumpkins and ghosts, dozens of horror masks, and hand painted signs honoring films like Day of the Dead It and The Frighteners. Last year they handed out candy to nearly 700 visitors at their O Henry Circle cul de sac.

Helicopter Requested After Three Lorain County Crashes
Three traffic crashes within hours near Lorain County sent three people to MetroHealth Medical Center. Mindy Ramsey 26 Maple Heights in critical condition and Mark Nagy 49 Grafton in fair condition were transported after separate wrecks on Gifford Road Henrietta Township and Interstate 90 near Nagel Road. A third unidentified 33 year old driver crashed on Interstate 90 eastbound near Route 254 in Sheffield. Three children 3 4 and 6 were hospitalized after the Ramsey incident with adult passenger Noelle Nelson unharmed.

Farewell Tour Planned for Whittier Middle School
Former students and the Lorain community will tour Whittier Middle School at 3201 Seneca Ave today 1 to 5 PM and Sunday. The 1922 building hosts displays from Lorain Schools, Black River Historical Society, and the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame with refreshments served at a farewell ceremony before demolition.
