World Pair Championship Hand Stirs Debate on Bidding
The article recalls a 1970 world pair championship hand where Zanusi and Saulino faced a puzzling sequence with West doubles and East passing, leading to a two spades doubled contract that scored 155 match points. It contrasts with a one spade doubled line that would have earned 152 and notes the oddities of matchpoint scoring.
