Absentee Voting Deadline In Elyria and Lorain

The Lorain County Board of Elections sets 6 30 p m as the deadline to mail or hand out absentee ballots from Elyria and Lorain offices. Offices stay open until then for residents leaving the county and those absent until after election day. Servicemen may vote at either office until noon on election day. mailed ballots must be returned by noon tomorrow to count.

New Wellington Fieldhouse Presentation Tonight

During the Wellington versus Stow game the fieldhouse on the athletic field will be formally presented to the Wellington Exempted School by Kiwanis Club president Robert Young. Walter Harris will accept for the school. Dr. George Ravitch and A. R. Weber led the fundraising and erection efforts for the 25 by 64 foot concrete block building valued at 12 000 dollars, with 6000 dollars in actual funding reported. It features showers lockers lavatories for both teams a gas heated space and a snack bar.

Newspaper Boy Remains Steady After Auto Crash

William Nemec a 12 year old Chronicle Telegram carrier from 576 Cleveland street was struck while crossing Cleveland street near Edgewood. He told an ambulance crew to have a friend finish the deliveries. He is treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital with a head cut and bruises. The driver Elmer Ruecke of 36525 Center Ridge road said he noticed the boy crossing and the dent in the cars left front grill confirms contact. Nemec's condition is reported as good.
