Petition in error filed in Dr Snook case in Columbus
In Columbus Ohio on October 25 a six page petition in error was filed in the Dr James Howard Snook case. The petition contests the verdict and death sentence, accusing the trial of errors and criticizing Judge Henry L Scarlett and County Prosecutor John J Chester. Theora Hix, a co-ed at Ohio State University, testified about the body found and Snook’s arrest. The petition assails the prosecutor’s closing remarks urging jurors to deliver a verdict that would reassure parents and university students that Columbus and Ohio State University are safe.
