Delay In Board Action Voids Sheffield Lake School Bond Approval

A $340000 Sheffield Lake Local School District bond issue voted last May 5 was voided after bond attorneys found a three day late resolution filing required for sale. The May 5 election carried 284 to 95 for expansion of Tennyson elementary and Brookside high schools, both overcrowded. A special meeting with Prosecutor Mikus discussed reballot options and legality under the single-election rule.

Oberlin's Community Chest drive surpassed its $15,137 goal by about $500, making the town possibly the first in the county to go over the top. Chair man Nelson Gray and co chairs C. A. Reds Charge Allied Prisoners Tortured in Korea

In Panmunjom the Reds allege Allied agents torture and even murder POWs who wish to go home. They provide a list of 400 anti communist South Korean and Chinese Nationalist prisoners mingling with 22,500 anti red inmates. An Indian official said there is some truth to agents in compounds but the charges are exaggerated. The NNRC named a sub committee to explain the stalemate as talks stalled over brainwashing and re groupings. The Indian spokesman noted anti-Red prisoners who switched loyalties hinder identification.
