FAIRPORT HARBOR Ont. Oct. 2 Search for victims of the Canadi an sandsucker Land Merchant sinking in Lake Erie near here progressed after three crew members were recovered. The bodies identified were William A. Grant 31 of Thorald Ont Raymond Harper 24 of Ft. William Ont and Pete Harold Cannon 235 of Harvey Ont. Each man wore a life belt. Two bodies were recovered by a trapnet boat commanded by Capt. Ralph Stanhope and the other by Fairport coast guards. The Land Merchant sank off Avon Ohio during a storm.

Angelo Salvatore, 38, of Cleveland, entered a not guilty plea before Common Pleas Judge Guy B. Findley. Salvatore, arrested last week at his home on a robbery indictment, had bond set at $30,000. Prosecutor Howard R. Butler said trial would begin at 9 a.m. on November 19 before Judge Findler. the charges allege involvement in a robbery of $1.90 and a watch from Emil Ruth, a South Amherst business man.

In a rare split slate election the Northeastern Ohio Teachers Association chose E. Glenn Baxter, Elvira High School, as recording secretary, part of a near party line clash with the regular slate. Twelve persons were injured, none critically, in a Route 18 collision near Wellington about 11:33 p m Saturday. Casper Madro drove a car carrying nine. Louis Weaver of Scalp Level Pa and Mrs Lottie Drosky with Ed Drosky 16 also injured. The most seriously hurt was Lely on Saxe 12 with a fractured leg taken to Falls Clinic and Oberlin Hospital. Other injured included Marie 17 Dorothy 14 Eleanor 12 Helen 11 Donald 7 and five of Madro’s children plus his hired man John Firhacher.
