A Delaware judge increased Loger D. Braden's bail from 92000 to 192000 after the death of Shalita Middleton, a freshman from Washington, D C, in the Sept 21 Delaware State University shooting. Prosecutors may seek a murder charge. Braden remains jailed on attempted murder and related counts.
Police say 15 year old Markees Smith brought a pistol to Manassas High School to sell it. It discharged in an 11th grade English class injuring a 16 year old classmate. Smith faces aggravated assault reckless endangerment and gun on school property charges. The wounded student was treated and released. The gun was found outside a classroom window after lockdown. Metal detectors were not in use that morning.
