North Ridgeville High School's guidance department schedules parent teacher conferences for grades 10-12 on Nov 14-15 from 11:30 am to 3:15 pm and 4:30 to 7 pm with 10 minute slots. Also announced are the Haunted House at Ridgeview Shopping Center, TV personalities appearance, Senior Citizens Halloween party, new chamber hours, and Parks and Recreation basketball starting Nov 3 at North Ridgeville High School.

Bara schedules three town meetings in November
State Rep. John V. Bara will host three town meetings next month. He will meet North Ridgeville residents on Thursday, Nov. 10, 6:30 to 7:40 p.m., in North Ridgeville City Council chambers. On Monday, Nov. 14, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., he meets Elyria residents in Elyria City Hall council chambers. The third session is Monday, Nov. 21, 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., in Avon Lake City Hall council chambers for Avon and Avon Lake residents.

Election board sets hours for absentees
Lorain County Board of Elections offices in Elyria and Lorain will offer extra Saturday hours for absentee voting. On Oct 29 and Nov 5 the offices open 8:30 a.m. to noon. All absentee ballot requests must be received by noon on Nov 5.

Girl abducted by grandpa reunites with Toledo mother
A 13-year-old girl abducted by her grandfather six years ago will live with her mother Karen Creswell of Toledo after a Lucas County judge ordered release from Medical College of Ohio. Charity Freeman underwent tests, and the judge rescinded temporary custody to the county board while ending visitation with Leroy Freeman. The case dates to 1982 with Freeman seeking custody but Charity vanished last before a final ruling.
