Browns Edge Chargers After Behind-Slow Comeback
Browns coach Forrest Gregg asked if the team could rally from behind and the fans wondered the same. Cleveland recovered from a 14-0 deficit to beat San Diego 21-17 without star running back Greg Pruitt. Backup Cleo Miller left with an injury and two new replacements, Larry Poole and Mike Pruitt, carried the load. The Chargers tied the game at 14 before halftime by scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter’s end.
