Amherst district seeks funds for new four-building plan
Amherst Ohio schools aim to fund a 31.5 million new elementary on South Lake Street with a 25-year bond covering about 55 percent and 14.2 million from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission. The plan consolidates Powers and Nord Middle School with upgrades to HVAC, drainage, and space while extending the current bond to 2041. Lorain officials and local leaders push for the measure ahead of Election Day.
