Voting against hotel stalls plans in village council
Councilmen Kevin Watkinson and Leo Sheets opposed the hotel project citing flood concerns near a ditch by I-90. Mayor Darlene Onderein said engineers expect no increased water, and the plan will boost local revenue via a 3.5 percent bed tax. The hotel would likely hire at least 10 employees, with potential replacement of a nearby Elytia Inn.

Mark Petrie, remains in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center after a shooting at a home where he and his wife were found bleeding on a couch.
