Gold pans reveal tiny Ohio riches lure a hobbyist
Dayton AP report follows Clinton County park ranger Robert Lechner who, after a misstep with fool's gold, finds genuine gold dust in Ohio streams. He horitates that the profit is small yet steady, about $1 per hour, while geologist Michael Hansen notes Ohio gold is scarce and rarely economically significant. Lechner has taught 250 to 300 people to pan for gold and says many in the area wish to learn, often finding gold in every pan.
