The Big Chill creator Kasdan on hit film and critics
Lawrence Kasdan reflects on The Big Chill success and crowded release, saying Hollywood doubted its audience while critics split. He explains the film as a comedy of values about seven Michigan graduates reuniting after a classmate’s death, emphasizing word of mouth driving its strong performance despite controversy. He defends the tone and aims, noting the cast’s grounded, self aware humor.
