Miami Beach eyes sand comeback to regain tourist edge
Miami Beach leaders unveil a plan to restore its shoreline by dredging sand from the sea bottom and pumping it onto the beach. The project spans 15 miles and 200 feet wide, costing at least 28.5 million dollars and taking about five years to complete. The move aims to revive the resort's image amid rising high rise hotels and changing demographics while underscoring tourism as a major regional industry.
