Head-on Crash Kills Grafton Woman on Rt 57

A head-on collision on Route 57 south of Capel Road claimed the life of Betty Stuart, 42, of 4024 Grafton Road. She died at Elyria Memorial Hospital at 11:20 a.m. from chest and head injuries after the crash around 6:25 p.m. The driver of the other car, 44, was also seriously injured, along with Stuart’s 15-year-old daughter Judy, who remained in intensive care. Fulton Funeral Home and the Lorain County sheriff's deputies are handling arrangements.

Turnpike crash fatal to Lorain man

A Lorain man died in a single vehicle crash on the Turnpike near Exit 9 in the early morning. His east bound car left the roadway, struck a sign and the median, ripping open the left side. The victim, Layne Caseel, 1120 Euclid Ave, was pronounced dead at Elyria Memorial Hospital.
