Trial opens for man accused of instigating fatal shooting
In Elyria, Misty Ellis testified that Markus Martin ordered Tristen Belfiore to shoot Davion Strupe, father of her child, during a July 2014 mob attack. Prosecutors say Martin his mob killed Strupe after demanding he come outside, with multiple participants inflicting fatal blows.

Elyria police say Nicole Gillette, held a concealed carry handgun at home on Baldwin Street when dropping the 9 mm as she tried to return it to a safe. A bullet grazed her calf while her toddler was present but unharmed. She was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. no charges expected.
