latchkey bus scene shows drivers caring for kids after school

Firelands district drivers often end up supervising children after early dismissals due to weather or building issues. Latchkey kids may be sent to relatives or centers, and drivers note this as community service while seeking better handling. Wendy's developers eye suit over Detroit Crocker access

Westlake owners of a Wendy's site plan to sue City Council for access to the northeast corner of Detroit and Crocker roads. Part‑owner Dennis Troyan said they will decide Monday with attorney Michael Gavin whether to pursue court action. The council restricted access to a right turn in and out, saying a two way driveway would be unsafe near the intersection. Troyan contends the city lacks traffic data and argues a full access driveway could be safer than the proposed limits.

U S to repay communities for sewer plant project

Four western Cuyahoga County communities will receive 2,337,000 in federal reimbursement for the Rocky River Wastewater Treatment Plant built in 1972. The plant, designed with EPA backing as an 80 percent federally funded experiment, never functioned, leaving 80,000 residents to pay about 10 million dollars yet see no benefits. The new payment, plus prior grants, brings the federal share near the promised 80 percent.
