Suspect in lien scam indicted in Lorain County
Waukeen Spraggins, 39, is indicted on tampering with records and forgery for allegedly filing a fake $15,000 mechanic's lien on the Elyria home of Herman and Rebecca Smith in 2010 while jailed in Michigan. The lien was sold for $10,000 and deemed fake by attorney John Gill. Spraggins is jailed in Lorain County and investigators note the owner had no work done.
