Ohio's richest citizen to be buried Wednesday
Funeral services for Samuel Mather, Ohio's wealthiest man and major benefactor, will be held Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Bishop Warren Lincoln Rogers will preside as city officials and benefactors of Mather attend. Mather, 86, died Sunday in Bratenahl after a heart attack following two weeks of illness. He built the Western Reserve University Medical School and helped fund Lakeside Hospital and University Circle projects. He chaired Western Reserve University and supported the Cleveland Museum of Art and various charities.
