Damage claim delays Hill ditch improvement hearing
A Carlisle Township ditch project to widen and clean a 3200 foot drainage trench at an estimated 2639 faces a delay as Curtis R. Hill files a damage claim of 16700. The claim argues land takings would disrupt Hill’s tile drainage and reduce production. County commissioners postponed the hearing to consult state highway officials on routing the ditch along Rt 10 to cut length and cost. If plan changes approved, new cost estimates follow.

Troxel Plans Steel Tubing Addition at Ohio Plant
Troxel Manufacturing Co. is adding a new steel tubing facility at its Mos square feet site, with a S4on crane to handle sheets and coils. The tubing will be used for mop handles, juvenile furniture, hobby horses and lawn mowers. Troxel moved from Elyria in 1961 and acquired the tube mill from Harvell Kilgore in Bolivar Tennessee last December.

Women’s group plans workday and UN birthday party
The Belden A unit of the Women’s Society of Christian Service will hold a workday tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Mrs. Clarence Benton’s home Rt 76 to make sale items for the December bazaar. On Oct 24 at 1 p.m. they will celebrate the United Nations birthday with a party at the parsonage.
