Indians Cleared of Robeson County Newspaper Siege
Two Tuscarora Indians Eddie Hatcher and Timothy Jacobs were found innocent of all charges after occupying The Robesonian office in February to protest local corruption. They held up to 20 hostages for 10 hours with sawed-off shotguns but no injuries occurred. The verdict was cheered in court as historic.
