Royal Vienna porcelain origins and later makers
Royal Vienna refers to porcelain marked with a beehive or Vienna style decor. The original Imperial State Manufactory Vienna operated 1744 to 1864, then closed. after 1864 many factories used the name and marks. Augarten and other firms claim succession, but collectors prize artist decorated original pieces.
