Bolivian crowd tragedy as jet hits soccer practice
A chartered American Boeing 707 crashed into a Santa Cruz street crowd and a boys soccer practice, killing over 100 including the four crewmen. Susan Edith Saxe, 27, Bran line University honors graduate, faced armed robbery fel ony murder charges in Suffolk Superior Court. After four weeks and a hung jury, Justice Walter H McLaughlin declared a mistrial. Prosecutor Garrett Byrne said a new trial would be sought on three indictments. The jury remained deadlocked at issue over planning and participation in the $26,585 bank robbery that left Patrolman Walter A Schroeder dead.
