The Morahan family participates in the labor saving routine with a bike and a bucket method for winter routes. Elyria Youth, 19, Killed In Head On Crash

An Elyria youth, Roger T. Smith, 19, was killed when his compact car crossed center on Center Ridge Road in Westlake and hit an oncoming vehicle. Donald O. Nilson, 24, and passenger Richard Hudecek, 24, were treated for cuts. Smith’s death is under investigation.

Soviet jetliner crashes with 160 believed killed

An Aeroflot IL62 on a non-scheduled Paris to Leningrad run crashed near Sheremetyevo airport killing about 160 aboard. Western sources name the aircraft as an Ilyushin 62. A government commission is named to investigate the disaster.
