Elderly Couple Fatally Injured in Fairfield County Crash
John F. Lauffer aged 80 and his wife Melissa 74 of Canal Winchester died when their car left the road and overturned a half mile west of Basil Fairfield County. Their daughter-in-law Mrs Clarence W Lauffer of Bexley drove the car and suffered serious bruises. Lauffer died instantly. Melissa died three hours later in Lancaster City Hospital. The couple were en route to the family cottage at Buckeye Lake for a weekend visit.
