Many Worthy Persons Not Included In Bigelow Plan
Ohio Emergency Committee charges oversights in two Bigelow amendments may be deliberate. It warns the proposed pensions of 50 dollars a month for singles and 80 for married retirees, funded by new taxes, could exclude farmers, professionals, small business owners, and housewives. The piece argues the plan risks ruin for Ohio, with substantial seizures of subsidies and a heavy tax shift, while detailing proposed lowered signature requirements for initiated amendments and the threat to urban rural balance.
