Scout Court Of Honor Here Tomorrow
The first full Court of Honor for the Bar Scouts of the Southeast District of the Firelands Area Council is set for Wednesday October 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Home. The Southeast District, including Elyria Oberlin Grafton Wellington Belden, will award all ranks in the Scouting Advancement Program. Robert Dew of Troop 101 Oberlin will receive the Eagle Award. Troop 105 of the First Congregational church, led by Scoutmaster Ed Gates, will handle the Candle ceremony. Robert Essig, an Eagle Palm Scout, will lead the opening and closing ceremonies. he is a standout in the Firelands Area Council and a member of the Ku-ni eh Tribe. James Ferriman of Troop 119 Elyria is the only Scout in Elyria with this award. Troop 130 of the Lorain American Legion Post will bring their orchestra, made up of Scouts, to play before and after the Court of Honor. A large turnout of parents and friends is expected as many awards will be presented. James H. Gelwicks, assistant Scout Executive, will present ribbons to Troops 103 105 and 119 for attendance and council camporee honors. The camporee highlights competition among troops in various Scout program phases.

Trains Collide Near Urbana Injuring Three Crew
Three men were injured, one seriously, when an Erie freight train and a Big Four wrecking train collided at Glen Echo between Urbana and Springfield. Art Blair, P. A. Shuster, and C. L. Doyle of Marion, crew members on the Big Four train, were burned and scalded. Blair was reported in critical condition. The Erie engineer and fireman reportedly jumped from the locomotive before impact.

Injuries Prove Fatal To John Diosy
John Diosy aged 27 of Ridge road died after being struck by a car on Grafton road three miles north of Grafton. He suffered a fractured skull and died at Elyria Memorial Hospital. The driver was Benjamin Donbrowski of Lorain. Sheriff Dick called it an unavoidable accident and no further action was planned. Diosy had attended a Steel and Tubes Company picnic at Snyder's Grove and was returning home with his brother Louis. He was born in Stockholm, Canada, and had lived in Lorain 13 years. Survived by wife Goldie and daughter Goldie Ann, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
