The Elyria Board of Education will meet Friday at 8 AM to finalize a 17 mill levy proposed to voters in December. A resolution is required to proceed though Monday’s 4-1 vote approved the levy, with about 200 residents attending a high school forum voicing concern and support.

Spencer officials warn residents to curb use as village reservoirs hold about 15 million gallons, two to three months of supply without rain. The three reservoirs total 35 million gallons, with no recent rainfall. last crisis in 1942 prompted a Civil Defense pipeline to refill the reservoir. The main reservoir is depleted, pumping from the upground unit. Daily usage averages 130000 gallons. The board may move fish from the nearly empty main reservoir to other storage with help from the Spencer Fishing Club.
