UAW reaches tentative pact with Chrysler ends strike
The United Auto Workers said it reached a tentative contract with Chrysler and called off a brief walkout after an 11 am deadline. Ratification votes by Chrysler workers will determine the pact. The deal aims to protect jobs wages pensions and health care for active and retired members. Chrysler had no immediate comment. The strike followed a similar walkout at GM two weeks earlier amid bargaining on a four year agreement.
