Palestinians seize Syrian embassy in Rome protest
Three Palestinians stormed the Syrian embassy in Rome with submachine guns, seizing two hostages before surrendering to police after about an hour. An embassy counselor was wounded. another hostage was a Syrian student. The attackers, who claimed to be from Black June, cited Syria’s role in Lebanon. Police initially thought five hostages were taken. In a separate incident, two fires at Lorain County Jail, Ohio, injured 14 and displaced about 80 inmates, with one inmate in critical condition. Jail staff evacuated inmates to multiple facilities as fires caused $25,000 damage.

Panic in Lorain County Jail as Fire Traps Women
