McGovern defends plan ending Vietnam War pullout not sellout

Democratic nominee George S. McGovern argued his seven point plan to end the Vietnam War would not be a surrender while warning that any withdrawal would be risky. He proposed halting bombing and a 90 day orderly troop withdrawal, with North Vietnam releasing POWs and no U.S. interference in Viet Nam's internal politics. Lorain County Voter List Sets New Peak Before Deadline

Lorain County reports a surge in voter registration for the November election with about 115 000 registered, up from 102 432 last year. The count includes first day absentee votes and last minute registrations at the Elvira office and county headquarters, while some out of area registrations remained uncounted at press time.
