Lorain Council rejects zoning change for outdoor storage
Lorain City Council voted 10-1 against a zoning change near Elyria Avenue that would allow outdoor storage of construction materials for Tom Harris’s excavating business. Residents and council members warned the area could become a junkyard, while Harris’s attorney noted some storage is already fenced and hidden from view. Councilwoman Mary Springowski was the sole supporter, calling Harris a good corporate citizen.
