Motorcyclist Airlifted After Avon Lake Intersection Crash
A 51-year-old Avon Lake motorcyclist was seriously injured when struck by a Chevrolet Blazer at Walker and Lear roads around 2:30 pm Tuesday. The Blazer driver, a 17-year-old, turned onto Lear Road and collided with the westbound Harley Davidson. The rider was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center. conditions were not released.

Feral cat advisory group forms after council furor in North Ridgeville
About six residents attended a 75 minute meeting at the North Ridgeville Branch Library as city officials and animal rescue groups discussed reducing the feral cat population. Greg Willey of the Friendship Animal Protective League urged community involvement and favored trap neuter release over indiscriminate euthanasia, noting it requires manpower and resources. The committee follows the June 10 shooting of five kittens by Humane Officer Barry Accorti, prompted by a resident’s request to clear the animals.
