Lorain moves toward exit from state fiscal watch
Lorain’s removal from state fiscal watch was reviewed by City Council after Auditor of State staffer Laura Brown outlined a three year forecast. The plan shows surpluses of 1.7 million end of year 2013, 954000 in 2014, and 434000 in 2015 aided by Issue 13 the permanent 0.5 percent income tax hike. The forecast anticipates bond savings and road and park spending, with Lorain planning 5 to 8 million in bonds in 2014 and again in 2015 for street projects.
