Enormous sauropod footprints found in Jura mountains
Paleontologists in eastern France report 4.6 to 4.9 foot diameter dinosaur prints at a 25 acre Jura site, with 20 tracks uncovered and hundreds more possible. The Late Jurassic sauropods weighed 33 to 44 tons and stretched over 82 feet. researchers Mazin and Hantzpergue say the prints help estimate size and speed and reveal behavior.

Alaska Sea Otters Granted Critical Habitat Status
The U S Fish and Wildlife Service designated over 5800 square miles as critical habitat for sea otters across the Aleutian Islands, Bering Sea and Alaska Peninsula under the Endangered Species Act. Listed as threatened in 2005, otter numbers have fallen in southwest Alaska, with 90 percent of the global population residing in coastal Alaska. The decline's causes remain unclear and an environmental suit pushed for faster protection.
