Many Voters May Be Ineligible in Elyria

Lorain County Board of Elections warned that many Elyria residents may be unable to vote next month as registration nears the deadline. The office in the Elyria Savings and Trust Building will stay open until 8 pm tonight and Monday to allow registration. Officials noted only a few Elyrians have registered and urged those who have transferred or are new voters to register by Monday night.

FBI Probes Sabotage Plot Aboard Arizona

In San Francisco on October 7 the FBI confirmed an investigation into a sabotage plot aboard the USSS Arizona moored in Los Angeles. Edgar Hoover, director, said the probe had been active for four or five days and involved routine inquiries.

Heads Named For YMCA Member Drive Campaign

Thirty two division heads and captains were named for the YMCA Black Cat membership drive. Workers will launch next Friday night with a dinner at the YMCA at 6 pm, then attend the high school football game. World Renowned Brain Specialist Dr Cushing Dies

Dr Harvey Cushing world renowned brain specialist died of a heart attack at New Haven Hospital. He was 70 and renowned in neurology, retiring last year from Yale as Sterling Professor of Neurology. Lorain Man Falls Over Cliff While Squirrels Hunt

Roy Mumford of 1227 Second Street Lorain suffered exposure shock and a possible jaw fracture after a fall from a steep Vermilion River bluff in Mull Hollow. He staggered from thick weeds at dawn and was rushed to St Josephs Hospital. A large search party, aided by deputies and Lorain police, later recovered his rifle hat and wristwatch at the cliff base.

French Report German Raids Repulsed

Injured Man Edward Faunce In Critical Condition

Edward Faunce, 31, of 134 Warren Avenue, was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital on September 23 with a very poor condition. He sustained severe injuries after a fall near Wykrent's restaurant on Lodi Street at 1643 hours September 23 and has received several blood transfusions.
