Raiders Find Money Under Case of Beer in Koehler Home
Federal prohibition officers raided Herman Koehler's home in Columbus and found liquor and a musty wallet with 2150 dollars hidden beneath a case of beer in the cellar. Two Men Fined In Police Court For Suspicion
Two men who gave names as George Bustable and Frank Brehm from Parkersburg West Virginia and Kinmore Ohio respectively were fined fifty dollars plus costs in police court yesterday for appearing as suspicious characters. They pleaded guilty after being arrested on Woodford Avenue by Officers Southam and Wamlin for approaching a Hungarian worker with a scheme to obtain four hundred dollars to be sent a twelve hundred dollar return on his investment. The Hungarian worker resisted and the men were taken into custody. Police described the scheme as an old confidence game involving envelopes and light fingered workers.
