The traffic deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Thomas, Lorain grocer and his wife, who were fatally injured when their car struck a broken down truck in Sheffield Lake village, will be presented to the grand jury when it convenes tomorrow. Sheriff Clarence Dick said Frank Elmer, 37, of Monroe Michigan, the truck driver, was released after temporary detention. Lieut. Arthur H. Clarke 42 a veteran Elyria fireman died near his Cleveland street home shortly after leaving for a bus stop with his children. He served in World War I with the 112th Engineers and rose to lieutenant in 1920. Nine miners killed as cage falls at Morning Mine
In Mullan Idaho on October 6 nine workers died when a cage broke from its cable and plunged 900 feet to the shaft bottom as they were being loaded for surface return. Rescuers reached the scene at 6 am. bodies were severely mangled and hard to identify. The mine is owned by Federal Mining and Smelting Co with offices in Wallace Idaho.
